LIGHT & NOIR HOLIDAY POP-UP SHOP AT THE SKIRBALL—OCTOBER 23, 2014–JANUARY 4, 2015
This gift-giving season, channel your inner femme fatale or hardboiled detective and step into a one-of-a-kind shopping destination at the Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles.
In association with its newest exhibitions, Light & Noir: Exiles and Emigres in Hollywood, 1933–1950 and The Noir Effect, the Skirball invites holiday shoppers to its “Light & Noir Holiday Pop-Up Shop.” In a dramatic setting designed to evoke a classic film noir set, the Pop-Up Shop offers a stylish mix of vintage (supplied exclusively by Clever Vintage Clothing) and contemporary fashions and accessories, as well as clever gifts, toys, bar accoutrements, home décor, and books.
While at the Skirball, be sure to visit the exhibitions. In Light & Noir: Exiles and Emigres in Hollywood, 1933–1950, discover how pioneering film artists found refuge in America and helped create some of Hollywood’s most classic films—from Ninotchka to Sunset Boulevard to Casablanca. In The Noir Effect, explore how the genre of film noir gave rise to major trends in popular culture, art, and media. For more information, visit skirball.org.
